I was sick for almost two months (on and off, but mostly on) and still feel out of sorts. What do you do when you’re not feeling like yourself? How do you get your energy back after a long illness?
I watched Sinners (fun), and The Accountant (not as fun, but I have a feeling #2 will be more exciting because I imagine the brothers being together is where it will really shine). I saw the new Wedding Banquet - I don’t think the original needed to be touched. I’ve been watching a lot of NBA playoffs and knitting. I’m rooting for the Warriors (to win it all) and the Knicks (to win the east). I’m loving all the new Ant soundbites we’re getting and playoff Jimmy. I’ve had an absolute inability to enjoy reading any books lately so I’m keeping my hands busy knitting. Honestly, I’m not sure I love it but it’s hard to stop once you get going and it’s a good way to not be able to pick up the phone and scroll. I have about 20 books from the library on my shelf, but if you have a favorite book that has gotten you out of a slump, let me know. If you know of a book that is as good as Lonesome Dove, I need to know about it.

I was sick July-Nov last year, and one of the only things that kept me sane was The Lion Whisperer on YouTube. Calm, serene videos of wildcat sanctuary interactions was the only thing I could stand between the headaches and exploding sinus congestion!
A bit niche, but I recommend The Thirteenth Tale if you like Gothic mystery as a genre. I've re-read multiple times and always wait a few years between each read to forget about the twists and such. I've scoured forums over the years to hear what others thought about it and would love to hear your take! I found it by searching for books similar to East of Eden, if that helps :)
